From the Pride Ring of Hell to the storied interior of the Majestic Theatre, the demons (and angels) of Prime Video’s hit adult animated series Hazbin Hotel set Broadway ablaze on their first-ever one-night-only live event. Fans were treated not only to live versions of their favorite songs but also to the first two episodes of season two in a surprise screening. This coincided with the performances of songs from season two.
The Red Carpet, which was hosted at InterContinental Times Square, was just as much of an event itself. Though some cast was notably absent (we missed you, Alex Brightman), bringing together voice actors from both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (also created by Vivienne Medrano) was the perfect recipe for what the show is about. It’s a chaotic family, but the best kind of chaotic family.

Today, Broadway. Tomorrow, hopefully more Broadway
Fans have been asking for a Broadway adaptation ever since the first season premiered in early 2024. It only made sense: Most of the cast are either Broadway veterans or theater actors themselves. Season one’s music lends itself flawlessly to stage, and being able to see the actors perform was nothing short of magical. There is a level of care and love for their characters that you don’t see often.
The concert followed the screening, and it was safe to say that the energy inside the theater was even more electrified than it had been. (And it was pretty electric already.) Hazbin Hotel has one of the most vocal and dedicated fanbases I’ve seen, and it is truly something to behold at events like these. Prime Video also hosted a cosplay event prior to the performance itself; everywhere you looked there was a Lucifer, or an Alastor, or even a Niffty.
Once the performances started–hosted by the effervescently bubbly Erika Henningsen (Charlie Morningstar)–the atmosphere was something closer to a concert, albeit a slightly-muted one. The passion from both the actors themselves as well as the fans was palpable. Medrano crafted a special world, and it’s wonderful to see how it’s embraced.
Fortunately, for those who didn’t get to attend the concert, Prime Video will be releasing a recorded version. Stay tuned for updates.
