Netflix has officially confirmed the cast of their upcoming live-action version of Scooby-Doo. The Mystery Gang will comprise of:

  • Mckenna Grace (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Regretting You) will play “Daphne Blake” 
  • Tanner Hagen (The Pitt, Dark Light) will play “Shaggy Rogers”
  • Abby Ryder Fortson (Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret, Carousel) will play “Velma Dinkley”
  • Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space, The Bondsman) will play “Fred Jones”

The logline for the series goes like this.

A modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets. 

The Scooby-Doo series comes from Showrunners/Writers/EPs Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg. The other Executive Producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman (via Berlanti Productions and its overall deal with Warner Bros. Television), André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson (via Midnight Radio), Toby Haynes (EP/Episode 101 Director).

The show doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’ll be running on Netflix.
