When you see the title Alice in Borderland, the first thing that comes to mind is Alice in Wonderland. And honestly, you wouldn’t be that far off. The original supernatural horror, survival, and thriller seinen manga series of the same name by Haro Aso does indeed have some very strong Alice in Wonderland inspirations in it. Various characters, including the main character Ryohei Arisu, are all based off of an Alice in Wonderland character, just with them being in a much darker story.

It’s all quite exciting, and why Netflix decided to make a live-action adaptation of Alice in Borderland back in December 10, 2020. As of this writing, it’s currently up to two seasons for a total of 16 episodes. What’s more, critics and audiences alike are praising the series quite a bit, mostly for its high production quality. All in all, it looks like this particular Netflix live-action adaptation is doing pretty well. It certainly explains why we’re getting this bit of news.

Netflix is proud to hype up the upcoming third season of Alice in Borderland with a brand new trailer plus key art. Both of them also reveal that we’re going to see this Season 3 on September 25, 2025. Not convinced? Well, you can watch that trailer for yourself either on YouTube, or just look below:

Honestly, fans of Alice in Borderland will be rejoicing. For they are about to get a third season, presumably also lasting 8 episodes. It will probably not quite enough to cover the rest of the manga, and who knows what changes Netflix will introduce along the way? Still, it bodes well for this live-action series. Maybe you might even check it out too? Especially with the synopsis to tease the plot below:

“After Usagi is abducted and left unconscious by a mysterious scholar obsessed with the afterlife, Alice returns to the perilous “Borderland” to save her. Teaming up with new players, they must face the yet-unseen “Joker” stage in a desperate bid to find a way back to their original world.”
