Have you ever heard of Long Story Short? If you haven’t, then don’t worry. You’re not the only one. The show hasn’t even started streaming on Netflix yet. Long story short, this 10-episode (each 30 minutes long) creation of Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman) is about the life and times of the fictional Schwooper family over the course of years. Decades, even. All with as much cringe-inducing black comedy silliness happening to everyone in the family, but with a particular focus on the siblings in particular.
Now that you know what this show will be about, here’s the scoop. Netflix is proud to announce that the first season of Long Story Short will soon be making its streaming debut. How soon, you might ask? Well, as soon as Friday, August 22, 2025. You can see for yourself in the official Netflix trailer on YouTube, or just look below:
As you can tell by the title though, that’s not the only news for today. Netflix is also announcing that Long Story Short will also get a season 2 at some point in the future. Netflix doesn’t say when we’re going to get that second season though. That info will have to come later.
Long Story Short Confirmed for Two Seasons

So long story short, Netflix appears to have some very high hopes on this show. It’s not surprising, really. Especially when you look at the creator’s track record. Raphael Bob-Waksberg’s previous animated series were all massive hits. Heck, the name BoJack Horseman and all the associated memes from the show are all major internet sensations. Thus, you can explain Netflix’s high hopes on Long Story Short, as well our own high hopes to boot.
