“Joseph of Egypt”, an epic Biblical drama was ordered to series by Prime Video. Production on the eight-episode limited series is currently underway in New Mexico. The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

In this iconic Old Testament story, betrayed by jealous brothers, Joseph, played by Adam Hashami, defies all expectations and rises to incredible power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. But when his past catches up with him, Joseph is confronted with the ultimate test.

Starring alongside Hashmi are Alexander Siddig as Jacob, Babak Tafti as Simeon, Daniel Peera as Reuben, and Iris Bahr as Leah. Recurring cast members include Dakota Shapiro as Ashur, Tannaz Shastiri as Eliuram, Ruben Vernier as Gad, Amir Malaklou as Judah, Moran Atias as Bilhah, Necar Zadegan as Zilapah, Matisse Ratron-Neal as Issachar, Shani Atias as Rachel, and Siya Maleki as Levi.

Craig Wright will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, with Dallas Jenkins executive producing under his 5&2 Studios banner. Also executive producing are Brad Pelo, Mark Sourian, Ryan Swanson, and Tyler Thompson.

“Joseph of Egypt” is co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios. Earlier this year they inked a first-look multi-faceted deal. This deal provides streaming rights to the first five seasons ofThe Chosen”. As well as the new unscripted series “The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls” for Prime Video. The pact also includes theatrical and streaming rights to “The Chosen’s” upcoming final two seasons. Those follow the crucifixion (Season Six) and the resurrection (Season Seven).
