Comic books and professional wrestling have been linked for generations. After all, wrestlers are often portrayed as larger-than-life heroes and villains that jump off the page and come to life. And thanks to companies like Marvel, BOOM Studios, and Chaos, fans were able to go to their local comic shops to go deeper into the lore of their favorite wrestling companies and personalities. But for the latest chapter in this storied history between the squared circle and superheroes, things have just gotten All Elite.

According to a new press release, DC Comics and All Elite Wrestling have announced that wrestling superstars such as Will Ospreay, Mercedes Moné, “Hangman” Adam Page, “Timeless” Toni Storm, and more will join forces with the Justice League for a two-issue crossover event from writer Steve Orlando, interior artwork by Travis Mercer, and covers by Lucas Meyer. Previously, the two companies joined forces to tell the origin stories of AEW stars in promotional comics that were later assembled in the “AEW Origins” collection. But for this epic new tale, the AEW roster will tag team with iconic DC characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, and multiple Green Lanterns to “recover the Big Galactic Belt and prevent a cosmic catastrophe.”

Fans attending New York Comic Con 2025 will get the first look at “DC x AEW” during a panel called “Heroes, Villains, Spaces In-Between: Pro Wrestling and Comic Storytelling” on Friday, October 10 at 5:00 pm ET. Jon Moxley, Willow Nightingale, Swerve Strickland, and Orange Cassidy will then join the creative team behind the comic for a special signing of the preview comic the following day.

When Worlds Collide

As exciting as these developments are, this isn’t the end of the newfound faction between the comic book juggernaut and the pro wrestling powerhouse. Both companies will co-promote the upcoming DC Comics event “DC K.O.” from acclaimed comic creators Scott Snyder (who is best known for writing some of the most beloved Batman stories of the past 15 years) and Javier Fernandez (an artist who has masterfully depicted the likes of Captain America, Spawn, Nightwing, Spider-Man, and the Teen Titans). Readers can also participate by filling out the ultimate DC Comics bracket that pits 32 characters against each other in order to crown King Omega at the end of this five-issue mini-series.

AEW is set to showcase the fan-fueled comic series across its programming and social media platforms. In kind, DC will showcase special variant covers featuring the heaviest hitters from the DC Universe and the AEW locker room going head to head. And finally, DC Comics will be the presenting sponsor of AEW Full Gear, which will emanate live from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Saturday, November 22, 2025. But for fans unable to make it to the Garden State to see the show in person, the pay-per-view will be available to HBO Max (another piece of the Warner Bros. Discovery puzzle like DC and AEW) for subscribers on supported devices.

Does this mean that we’ll actually get to see Adam Copeland vs. Peacemaker after all? Unlikely, but to get the latest on DC Comics, All Elite Wrestling, and more entertainment news, be sure to follow That Hashtag Show for updates.
