The very first episode of Kaiju No. 8 season 2 looks like it’s all ready to bring us back to the world of military sci-fi kaiju action. It’s a story that began with the first chapter of the manga of the same name by Naoya Matsumoto when it premiered in Shonen Jump on July 3, 2020. It’s also a story that made the jump to anime on April 13, 2024 when the vProductionery first episode from Production I.G made its debut on Crunchyroll.
And now, we soon will get Kaiju No. 8 season 2 when the first episode will make its premiere on July 19, 2025 at 7:00 AM PT. What will it be about, you might ask? Well, for starters, let’s look at the official trailer from TOHO Animation below:
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Official Trailer Teases First Episode
The very first episode of Kaiju No. 8 season 2 gives us exactly what this trailer shows off. Once more, we’re getting some sweet military sci-fi action against kaiju in a way that you would normally only see in a Godzilla film. The difference here, of course, is that this is an anime, and a shonen one at that. Thus, you can expect the typical shonen action in this anime. Not only that, but it’s very bloody shonen action to boot even in this first episode. If that sounds appealing to you, then you’ll enjoy that first episode when it arrives.
As for what the rest of that second season of Kaiju No. 8 entails? Well, Crunchyroll has an official synopsis that gives us a hint about that, which you can read below:
“Thanks to Isao Shinomiya, Kafka Hibino avoids being turned into a weapon. As new recruits head to their posts, Kafka meets Gen Narumi, the strongest man in the Defense Force and leader of the First Division. Kafka embraces the power of Kaiju No. 8 to force Gen to recognize his strength. Meanwhile, Kaiju No. 9 lurks in the shadows as the greatest threat the Defense Force has faced awaits.”
