A lot of good TV and movies just rolled in with the tide for What We’re Watching this weekend on That Hashtag Show. F1 and M3gan 2.0 are set to rock things for two very different sets of audiences. At home, there are a ton of options for new shows to crank up that AC and get to binging with. Let’s take a look around the world of entertainment and find you something to watch!

F1 The Movie – In Theaters Now

Brad Pitt and Damson Idris take things into high gear during F1 The Movie. Our first “take your Dad to see this one” selection of the summer. It’s thrilling, and the car action is a sight to behold. Joseph Kosinski, a master of making things look amazing from Top Gun: Maverick, takes Formula One to the big screen with a good measure of drama to keep non-gearheads engaged.

M3GAN 2.0 – In Theaters Now

M3GAN is doing things a little bit differently this time in a quick follow-up to the pop culture moment. Blumhouse’s latest isn’t a traditional horror movie and feels like an attempt to draw the entire killer robot thing towards its natural conclusion. But, M3GAN 2.0 does have one ace up its sleeve; it’s darn fun in an age where some movies shy away from that. If you’re a horror fan or loved the first movie, this is an instant ticket purchase.

Ironheart – Streaming on Disney+

Riri Williams and Dominique Thorne have had a long road to this point! Ironheart debuted in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever a few years ago. Marvel Studios gave Ryan Coogler the keys to produce a series focusing on Riri making her way back to Chicago. It’s a tale of magic and technology with some really charming performances. Our Hunter Bolding really enjoyed his time with the MCU series.

The Bear – Streaming on Hulu

A lot of Chicago in this week’s rundown? Yeah, but this trip is also going to fill you up. The Bear Season 3 left some fans a bit unsatisfied, but Season 4 leans into more of what people really adore about this show. Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edibiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach form the backbone of a solid season of television. Things get stressful, but when do they not in this show?

Squid Game – Streaming on Netflix

If you’ve been invested so far, then you already know that you were going to be along for the final season. Squid Game is heading over the finish line, no more red lights, full green! Gi-hun is determined to get to the bottom of this massive conspiracy he’s been chasing since the first season. Expect a massive viewership number for a flagship Netflix show.

Countdown – Streaming on Prime Video

Jensen Ackles has been a busy man. Things continue to pick up for The Boys star as he stars in Countdown. He’s on the prowl for a killer who’s terrorizing Los Angeles in this crime thriller. This show is going to be a favorite with high-octane action and fan-favorite actors abound. If any of that sounds like your jam, give it a watch.

The Day The Earth Blew Up – Streaming on Max

Our friends, The Looney Tunes, are back in this delightful animated feature. Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are trying to get to the bottom of an alien invasion. There’s slapstick, beautiful animated flourishes, and Eric Bauza working overtime to deliver an iconic performance in this one. Social media has been buzzing about this one for more than a year now, and you can watch it at home!

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX – Streaming on Prime Video

Gundam has been around for a loooong time now. The latest entry in this franchise proves to be a bit of a ride. You wouldn’t expect anything less with the creative team they’ve assembled. (Evangelion’s Hideaki Anno and FLCL’s Yoji Enokido are the writers at the head of this one!) It’s a story about fate and its pull through time and how war comes into contact with those ideas. As an added bonus, run to binge these twelve episodes if you love the original series; you won’t be disappointed.

Tatami – Now in Theaters

Leila is an Iranian Judo athlete chasing her dreams in the world championships. One small problem jeopardizes everything when her government tells her to withdraw from the competition due to political pressure. Will she risk everything to follow that dream? Her family, coach, and more will live with the consequences of that decision. A gripping film from Zar Amir-Ebrahimi.
