The Astra Midseason Movie Awards are a good barometer for what could be an awards season favorite for 2025. The Hollywood Creative Alliance has announced the nominees for movies released between January 1st and June 30th, 2025.
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners received seven nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Michael B.Jordan, Best Supporting Actress for Hailee Stenfeld and Wunmi Mosaku, Best Supporting Actor for Miles Caton, Best Screenplay, and Best Director.
Similar to last year, A24 Films received the most nominations overall across all categories, with 11 nominations across their titles, including Alex Garland’s Warfare, Celine Song’s Materialists, and Eva Victor’s Sorry, Baby.
Other films with multiple nominations include Neon’s The Life of Chuck, Sony Pictures’ 28 Years Later, Apple’s F1, Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*, and Focus Features’ Black Bag.
Final voting for the 2025 Astra Midseason Movie Awards is currently underway. The Astra Midseason Awards winners will be announced on the official Astra Awards X page and Instagram Page on Thursday, July 3, 2024, starting at 10am PT/1pm ET.
