The upcoming Disney+ series Oswald the Lucky Rabbit has found its three leads. According to Deadline, the new series from Jon Favreau about the REAL original cartoon character at Disney has three leads. They’ve added Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Skeleton Crew), Mykal Michelle Harris (Raven’s Home), and Ryder Allen (The Penguin) as the stars. The series is coming from writer, producer, and director Jon Favreau for Walt Disney Studios. The show will be live action/animated hybrid about the saucy, self-absorbed bunny.

Cabot-Conyers will play Jake, a hardworking middle school student with a big heart. Harris will play Jen, an artistic middle schooler who is always ahead of the game. Allen will play Taylor, a middle school student who is cautious but avoids turning down his friends.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit predates Mickey Mouse and he has an interesting history with Disney. Oswald was created in 1927 by Walt Disney and was in 27 animated shorts. However, Universal took control of the character in 1928 and Disney had to create a replacement mascot, so they did with Mickey Mouse.

Disney reacquired the trademark to the character in 2006. The video game series Epic Mickey reinvigorated popularity with the character and now you can see Oswald at Disney parks, but this’ll be his first series on Disney+.

Who Are These Kids In Oswald The Lucky Rabbit?

Cabot-Conyers recently starred in another Disney+ series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and also voiced Antonio in the Disney movie Encanto, so they’re no stranger to Disney. Harris is best known for her role in Big Little Lies and also starred in the Disney Channel series Raven’s Home as young Raven. Finally, Allen recently played a young Oswald Cobblepott in The Penguin on HBO Max.

All three of them will have their work cut out for them in this upcoming live-action/animated series on Disney+.
