The demon-slaying divas of KPop Demon Hunters are taking the music world by storm! Now, they’re aiming for awards gold. Netflix has officially submitted the film’s breakout anthem, “Golden,” for awards consideration, Variety reports. The track is already a streaming sensation. Now, it’s getting a standalone release via Republic Records on Friday, July 4. Along with the standalone release, there will be a three-track bundle featuring the original, instrumental, and a cappella versions.
Performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI, “Golden” is more than just a hit song; it’s a pivotal emotional moment in the film. The empowering anthem plays during a key scene where Huntr/x prepares to seal the mystical Golden Honmoon and shut the demon world out for good. It’s also the moment when lead singer Rumi reveals her own half-demon identity. This moment makes the performance as narratively impactful as it is musically soaring.
MORE ABOUT THE MUSIC FROM KPOP DEMON HUNTERS
Composed by EJAE and Mark Sonnenblick, and produced by 24, Ido, Teddy Park, and Ian Eisendrath, “Golden” was specifically crafted to blend cinematic storytelling with K-pop’s electrifying style. Eisendrath explains, “Our goal from day one was to have the songs double-function as both story drivers and absolute bangers. ‘Golden’ does both.”
And it’s working. Since KPop Demon Hunters premiered on June 20, the soundtrack debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, the highest soundtrack debut of 2025, while “Golden” became the No. 1 most-streamed song from the album globally. It’s now tied for the highest-charting song by a female K-pop group on U.S. Spotify (No. 3), debuted at No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100, and saw a 2000% increase on Apple Music since launch.
The film itself is a global hit, debuting at No. 1 in 33 countries and entering Netflix’s Top 10 in all 93 countries tracked. With “Golden” continuing to climb, Huntr/x may soon be adding a trophy to their demon-hunting arsenal.
