Rachel Brosnahan is taking the leap into DC Studios and the world of Superman. She’s starring as Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman. The film releases in theaters on July 11th, 2025. The movie kicks off the new slate for DC Studios. She recently sat down with our friend Brandon Davis of Phase Hero to talk about the film and her role as Lois Lane. She had some particularly great comments about the relationship between Lois and Clark Kent in the film.
I think she she’s one of very few people who know essentially all three versions of Superman and Clark. She knows Clark Kent, the performance of this journalist at the Daily Planet. She knows Superman, which is also partially a performance. And then she knows Clark, who was raised by Ma and Pa Kent and I think she knows him pretty deeply. It’s one of the things that even as they’re in a moment of questioning what the future of their relationship holds.
She knows that at the end of the day, while they might not always agree on how they get there, that they are both relentlessly in pursuit of truth and justice. And I think even in moments where it frustrates her, she’s inspired by his unique ability to be radically present, to find the beauty in humanity first, foremost and always, and to constantly be exploring what it means to be human.
So, I think she never has any doubt about what his intentions are in the way that he will handle this moving forward.
