Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 3 is officially in production and it’s being shot with IMAX cameras. That’s already huge news, right? Well think again, because the movie also has an official title. The upcoming return to Arrakis will not be called Dune: Messiah as some have thought. It’ll instead be titled Dune: Part Three.
The film will not entirely be shot with IMAX cameras though. Christopher Nolan will hold that distinction for his upcoming epic The Odyssey, which is being shot entirely with IMAX cameras.
Dune: Part Three will see Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Jason Momoa reprise their roles from the first two films. Denis Villeneuve is back in the director’s chair after helming the first two films.
Dune: Part Three is expected to release in theaters in December 2026.
This is a developing story, we’ll keep you updated as we get more news.
