Warner Bros. Discovery is no longer a thing. Well, in name, at least.

The two companies have unveiled their names and leadership. Warner Bros. will be led by current President and CEO of WBD David Zaslav, while Discovery Global will be led by current CFO of WDB Gunnar Wiedenfels. Both will separate into two media companies sometime in 2026. Warner Bros. will focus on what they do best, streaming and movie studios like Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, DC Studios, HBO, HBO Max, and Warner Bros. Gaming Studios. Zaslav will oversee that company and serve as its President and CEO.

Discovery Global will now focus on the company’s cable, news, and sports focused offerings like CNN, TNT Sports, free-to-air channels in Europe, and digital products like Discovery + and Bleacher Report. Here’s who’s joining Wiedenfels in Discovery Global.

The split marks a change back to how it was before the two companies merged, we’ll have to see how everything turns out when the split is completed in 2026.
