Tubi has a very creative science fiction comedy series called Demascus dropping soon! Martin Lawrence and Okieriete Onadowan star in the Tubi Original. Damascus is a genre-blending sci-fi romp that explores the vastness of Black expeirence. Men are often rendered in just a handful of ways on-screen. But, Damascus pulls at that boundary with some laughs and observations about the infinite universe we inhabit.

There’s a brand-new trailer for Demascus that premiered today and you can catch it right here up above. Showrunner Terrance Arvelle Chisholm is really proud of this unique vision for the future. Tubi Originals always seem to pull at some interesting concepts. Alongside Martin Lawrence in the cast, you can see Janet Hubert, Caleb Eberhardt, and Shakira Ja’nai Paye!

Here’s how the streamer describes what’s cooking: “DEMASCUS follows Demascus (Okieriete Onaodowan, Station 19), a Black man who goes on a journey of self-discovery using an experimental reality-bending technology. The series is a comedic, genre-defying, coming-of-age story that explores the gulf between Black male perspectives. Also starring are Janet Hubert (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), Caleb Eberhardt (Judas and the Black Messiah), Shakira Ja’nai Paye (Single Drunk Female, black-ish) and Martin Lawrence (in a recurring role).”

“Tubi has partnered with AMC Networks to premiere DEMASCUS, the six-episode half-hour comedic sci-fi limited series from playwright Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm and AMC Studios that focuses on the title character. The limited series is executive produced by Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) via his Gran Via Productions banner. Myki Bajaj of Gran Via. Kirk A. Moore (American Crime, For Life) and Chisholm serve as co-showrunners.”
