Sony Pictures Animation is getting ready for a Spider-Punk animated feature from co-writers Daniel Kaluuya and Ajon Singh. Deadline was the first with the news on the newest Spider-Man project from the studio.
There are no plot details currently and no one else is attached to the project. Daniel Kaluuya voiced the character in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse and was immediately a fan favorite character. He will reprise the role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse.
Spider-Punk was created by writer Dan Slott and artist Olivier Coipel. Hobie Brown (Spider-Punk) is an alternate version of Spider-Man who leans more into the anarchistic, anti-establishment side of things. He comes from Earth-138 and is fueled by his desire to help take down corrupt systems. His first comic appearance is in 2015’s The Amazing Spider-Man #10.
But What About The Spider-Verse?

The next film after Across The Spider-Verse, Beyond The Spider-Verse is scheduled to hit theaters in June 25th, 2027. It was delayed from an earlier date. The next Spider-Man film coming to theaters is Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day. That film stars Tom Holland, and recently added Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk/Bruce Banner and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Sony also has Spider-Man Noir coming out next year, which stars Nicolas Cage as the same character he voiced in Into The Spider-Verse.
Daniel Kaluuya has been busy in Hollywood since his breakout in Get Out. He’s also added behind the camera talents after making his directorial debut for Netflix with The Kitchen. He’s also producing a live-action Barney movie with Mattel and A24.
