A new take on Red Sonja fights onto the big screen soon. So we sat down with the cast of the upcoming film at San Diego Comic Con to get the details!

Matilda Lutz (Sonja), Robert Sheehan (Draygan), Wallis Day (Annisia), and Martyn Ford (General Karlak) joined us in the THS studio. And since this adventure promises to be action-packed, we had to ask about their stunt work first.

“There’s a lot of fun. The stunts, the combat…“ Lutz began.

“She’s a badass!” Day interjected.

“What I really love about the film is there’s a lot of humanity and heart. Even the way evil and good are portrayed,” Lutz added.

Dive into the action – plus airport disguises and the “secret sauce” to playing villain characters – in our full interview with the Red Sonja cast below.

About Red Sonja

Captured. Chained. Forced to fight for survival. Red Sonja must battle her way through the blood-soaked pits of a tyrant’s empire and rally an army of outcasts to reclaim her freedom and take down Dragan and his ruthless bride, Dark Annisia.

The feature is based on the Dynamite Entertainment version of the comic book character. The character previously hit the silver screen in 1985, in a film adaptation starring Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger,

Red Sonja comes from writer Tasha Huo and director MJ Bassett. It stars Matilda Lutz, Robert Sheehan, Wallis Day, Martyn Ford, Michael Bisping, Phillip Winchester, and Trevor Eve.

Red Sonja premieres in theaters August 13, before arriving on digital August 29.
