It was reported back in June that Tom Rhys Harries would star as Clayface, and now another big name may be joining the cast. It is now being reported that Max Minghella, the Emmy-nominated Handmaid’s Tale actor, is in talks to join DC Studios’ Clayface, which is set to hit theaters on September 11, 2026. While the deal has yet to be finalized, if it goes through, Minghella would join Harries at Warner Bros Leavesden studio in the UK, where the film will be shot.
Clayface, introduced in Detective Comics #40 in June 1940, is a shape-shifting villain who has occasionally served as an ally to Batman. Numerous beings have been called Clayface, with a total of eight different characters officially holding the mantle at one time or another. Knowing who and what to expect, Clayface can be a tricky affair.
