Six Flags Fright Fest underwent some major changes last year with a heavier focus on IP-based houses like Stranger Things, Trick ‘r Treat, and improving their Saw and Conjuring mazes. Now, for 2025, they took the stage first at Midsummer Scream 2025 to show off the future of the event. The information came fast and furious for Six Flags Fright Fest at Magic Mountain, so let’s recap it all.
Starting off, they showed off the IP-based mazes that would return for 2025.

Yes, The Conjuring, Saw: Legacy Of Terror, and Trick ‘r Treat will make a return for Fright Fest 2025. They’ll all have improvements and enhancements and won’t be the same as last year. This does mean that Stranger Things won’t be making a comeback after its appearance last year. Next they talked about the legacy houses for Fright Fest at Magic Mountain and it’ll be the final time for some of these houses at the event.

The Scare Zones were next on the docket with seven returning scare zones across the park including Plaza De La Muerte, The Underworlds of Oz, and more!

As for events that might be better for younger folks or people who don’t like scares, they also showed off that there’ll be an Oktoberfest event at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Magic Mountain Tricks and Treats. Tricks and Treats will have live music, trick or treat trails, and new additions.

We had news that Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags were merged under the deal with Cedar Fair and Six Flags last year. That partnership is now bearing fruit with cross-promotion between the two parks. Knott’s Scary Farm has lanterns that allow for interactive elements at the park, and now those lanterns are heading to Fright Fest. You’ll be able to use the lantern across the country at various parks under the Cedar Fair/Six Flags banner.

The New Maze And Scare Zones Around Six Flags Fright Fest 2025
There are two new scare zones in the park, Nightmares: Reign of Blood and Thunderbolt Alley. Nightmares: Reign of Blood takes over the old Nightmares slot with a focus on chess pieces and other scary elements. Thunderbolt Alley is a redesign of the underground section of the park with a rockabilly theme. They’re implementing ideas and concepts from their Scream Break event like having roaming characters that you can interact with and makeup and theming.

The latest show in the Full Throttle area of the park is Margo Rita’s Monster Ball. The drag-inspired show will see guests picking the winner of a contest on stage and shows happening throughout the night. They brought out Margo Rita and Tequila Sunrise, two characters from the show, to give guests a taste of what the show is like.

The sliders are everyone’s favorite scare actors in the park. They do a magnificent job with their acrobatics and athletic prowess, so they’re getting a returning show called Sliders of the Night: Streets of Mayhem.

Finally, the new maze.
Carnage is the newest maze at Six Flags Fright Fest and it’s about the original clown in City Under Siege. The maze takes you to an abandoned carnival warehouse and more in the DC area of the park. Carnage will also be out and about in this area for guests to meet and talk to.

They closed the panel out by talking about how this is the start of a new era for Fright Fest with more story driven offerings at the park. Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest 2025 runs from September 19th to November 2nd on select nights.
