Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation is the upcoming anime adaptation of a very unusual franchise. Disney Twisted-Wonderland itself is a Japanese mobile game (specifically: a gacha game) that launched on March 18, 2020; with an English localization arriving in NA on January 20, 2022. The basic premise of the game is being in a school with anime-fied versions of various Disney villains. If it sounds bizarre to you, well, anime fans might recognize a very familiar art style when they look at the characters in-game. If you think Black Butler, then you’re spot-on. For the famous Yana Toboso of Black Butler fame is in charge of the original plan, main script, and character design for the entire game. So if you want Disney villains but in a Black Butler story, then this is the game for you, and soon will be the anime for you as well.
All this, of course, leads up to our story for today.
