Lady London’s lyrical attributes and crafting a narrative
Early in our conversation, Lady London shared a bit about her thoughts approaching this docuseries. Portraying the journey to making a cohesive album isn’t easy. But, when you’ve been a poet since the age of 11, that can make things easier.
“I think the ability to paint vivid imagery and storytelling has always been at the top of my attributes,” Lady London pondered. “So, from writing all the way to watching something come into the screenplay was a pretty natural transition for me.”
She added, “I was able to executive produce this along with a few others, my showrunner, my producer, my director. Everything in this story is cultivated by me, and I think it gave a great narrative in the lead-up to making an album.”
Lady London on vulnerability on a big stage and sharing with fans

The hallmark of any documentary effort is showing sides of a star that the fans might not always get to see. Lady London entered this project with the understanding that vulnerability comes with the territory. She was ready for it. But, that doesn’t mean it was easy.
“Of course, I think people can pinpoint your weaknesses, or what they think are your weaknesses and try to use them against you,” Lady London mused. “So, I’ve always shown up in a way that I hold my head high. I walk into a room with a certain type of stride.”
“But I do think I have human nature. Everybody bleeds the same, daily. Just showcasing that side of vulnerability was extremely difficult,” she observed. “But if people want access, that’s what you were looking for? You got it!”
