For the first time since 2023, Beetlejuice The Musical. The Musical. The Musical. (Beetlejuice, if you don’t have the time) is returning to the Broadway stage. As fans know, the show originally finished its run on March 10, 2020, but reopened at the Marquis Theatre and ran from April 2022 through January 2023. Since then, its popularity has continued to thrive online.
“People found us and then our fans just took over,” said Mark Kaufman. “I mean, the reason we’re back the third time is truly for our fans. This is a thank you to you guys. I mean, we could have stopped the tour out of Broadway and we said, ‘You know what?’ You guys asked for it, and it felt like the third time was appropriate. So here we are.”

The panel also featured stars Justin Collette (Beetlejuice) and Isabella Esler (Lydia Dietz). According to Collette, playing Beetlejuice is “ like scream therapy. You go on stage, and you black ou,t and people cheer for you to do things that would normally get you kicked out of a restaurant. And the harder people cheer, the more I want that.”
For Esler, she discovered the show through TikTok in 2019 during its original run.
“ I found out about the show through TikTok in 2019 when they first opened, and I immediately gravitated towards [Lydia]. I always felt like she’s so relatable and, when I was on tour with the show, when I would go to stage door, I had so many people go up to me and say how much they related to Lydia and how the show helped them through their grief.”
“ I do the show completely differently depending on who is in that room.”
The importance of the fans has remained a solid foundation throughout the tour and back into the lights of Broadway.
“ We even opened our show, this one, by having a contest to do the poster for the opening night,” said Kaufman.
Collette even changes aspects of his performance based on the energy of the audience.
“ I do the show completely differently depending on who is in that room,” he said. “ And that just changes the vibe of it. It changes how it feels. I think that’s a really magical thing to be a part of and to share with other people in like a shared live space.”
The national tour of “Beetlejuice” will hit Broadway beginning on October 8 at the Palace Theatre. The musical is scheduled for a limited engagement run through January 3, 2026.
