Fans of “Alien: Earth” can breathe a sigh of relief. Noah Hawley has signed a new overall deal with FX and Disney Entertainment Television, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR). This includes a second season of “Alien: Earth that will continue on FX and streaming on Hulu. Production on season two is already said to begin in London next year.
HAWLEY’S DEAL
According to the report Hawley’s multi-year deal is valued in the nine figures. It will allow Hawley to expand to all of Disney Entertainment TV that includes ABC and Hulu Originals. This is a great deal for the house of the mouse, as Hawley has created some popular series. This includes “Fargo” that ran for five season and won seven Emmys. As well as “Legion” which ran for three seasons. Both of these series in FX.
The end of season one of “Alien: Earth” left viewers with a major cliffhanger, set two years before the events of the original “Alien” film. In a conversation with THR, Hawley said that “This is not a closed-ended season. This chapter is closed. … The balance of power has shifted. These children have no idea what’s coming.” The first season does a great job at introducing us to this world where so different entities are trying to take power and “control” only to discover, that they may be dealing with forces they underestimated.
