When Five Nights at Freddy’s first made its theatrical debut on October 27, 2023 here in the US, it was…not quite a smashing hit. In fact, critics almost universally panned it for things like inconsistent tone and esoteric plot. Nevertheless, that film adaptation of the Five Nights at Freddy’s video game franchise by Scott Cawthon has become a cult classic due to remaining very loyal to the games’ plotline. Thus, it might explain why we’re getting this bit of sequel news.

Blumhouse is proud to announce that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will soon make its theatrical debut. How soon, you might ask? Well, this sequel to that 2023 supernatural horror film will screen in theaters on December 5, 2025. In fact, you can purchase tickets for it right now directly from the film’s official website.

That’s not all though. Blumhouse also has a brand new “Rage” featurette/trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as part of this announcement. You can watch it either on YouTube, or just look below:

If you have a fear of puppets, then might (not) be the movie for you.

Honestly, this looks like we’re getting more of the first Five Nights at Freddy’s film, just with more of the esoteric plotline that defines the franchise. Notably, the Marionette makes a big appearance here, proving FNaF fans with some clues about what this sequel is about. Fortunately, since the film is less than a month away from its theatrical screening, we won’t have long to wait to find out just what it will be about.

What do you all think? Are you eager to see Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 in theaters come December 5, and see what the Marionette wants this time? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
