This weekend’s box office turned into a vibrant showcase controlled by animated prowess. Zootopia 2 bounded into theatres with unstoppable confidence; Wicked: For Good kept belting its way to massive returns; and the holdovers lower in the ranking fought to stay visible as new giants claimed the spotlight.

Zootopia 2 Leaps to a Mammoth First Place Victory

Zootopia 2

This weekend, Zootopia 2 exploded out of the gate with a sensational $96.8 million debut. While slightly below what it was set to open to; the start still cements it as one of the strongest animated openings of the year. The returning duo of Judy and Nick still carries enormous cultural affection, and the sequel’s marketing left nothing to chance. Families showed up in force, teens came for nostalgia, and adults found themselves just as invested as they were nearly a decade ago.

Wicked: For Good Holds Firm in Week Two

Week two delivered $62.8 million for Wicked: For Good. The drop is noticeable but still very healthy for a musical that opened in such a large fashion. Audience enthusiasm has not evaporated. It has simply settled into a steadier rhythm.

The film continues to capture fans who enjoy spectacle, emotion, and an unmistakably lavish aesthetic. As a second weekend contender, it remains a box office tank.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t Maintains Modest Momentum

In its third week, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t pulled together $7.0 million. The franchise’s traditional pattern is playing out again: solid but unspectacular earnings, gentle decline, decent date night energy.

The film has enough charm to keep seats filled, although it has clearly reached the phase where only dedicated fans and casual weekend wanderers are still showing up.

Predator: Badlands Survives the Fourth Week Drop

Predator: Badlands collected $4.8 million in week four, which is exactly the kind of slow but steady grind these creature features often experience once the core fans have already turned out.

It is not breaking records. It is not collapsing either. Instead, it remains quietly stable, performing with enough loyalty from genre devotees to justify its existence.

The Running Man Slips into the Middle of the Pack

Week three brought $3.7 million for The Running Man. At this stage, its performance is neither prosperous nor disastrous. The film has settled into a middle lane where curiosity has dwindled, but the remaining viewers remain enthusiastic enough to keep it in the Top 5.

Next Week’s Predictions

Looking ahead to next weekend, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is tracking between $50 million and $65 million; my guess places its debut close to $60 million. The first film drew a strong and eager audience, although it benefited from a remarkably quiet release window with almost no competing titles. That advantage is gone this time. The sequel enters a crowded marketplace filled with attention-grabbing releases, and convincing the youth demographic to choose this one over louder or fresher options will be far more challenging. The brand still has enthusiasm behind it; the question is whether that passion can withstand a tougher landscape.

As always, we’ll check in next week.
