LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is perhaps one of the most long-awaited Batman games in recent history. Not least of which is because it looks amazing. The hyper-realistic environmental effects and lighting put on LEGO minifigures creates a most interesting blend of artistic styles, and makes the game’s world feel more alive and visually appealing. And that’s not even going into the gameplay itself. Fortunately, the devs realize that the meat and bones of the game is in the gameplay, and want to reveal it to everyone. Thus, that’s why we’re getting this story for today.

Warner Bros. Games is proud to unveil the Batcave in the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game. How so, you might ask? Well, it’s all via an “Official Dev Diary Video” that they just posted on YouTube. That very video not only reveals some core aspects of the gameplay centered around the eponymous Batcave, which serves as Batman’s base, garage, and personal spa/amusement park in one, but also reveals that we’re going to get to play that game on May 22, 2026. You can head on over to YouTube to watch that video, or just look below:

And of course, let’s not forget the actual bats and what they leave behind.

Honestly, if the point of that dev diary video was to make people excited about LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, then it has well and truly worked for me. It’s pretty much everything you could ever want from a Batman game, but in LEGO form. Heck, it seems to have more features than most other Batman games, from complete customization of outfits, capes and all, to the freedom to take out vehicles from across the Batman eras. The LEGO styles makes it quite user-friendly, as befitting a toy that’s all about encouraging ingenuity and creativity.

And with May 22 being just a month away as of this writing, we won’t have long to wait to see if the game lives up to its promise. In fact, you can wishlist LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight right now on its official website.
